Notarial translation

Quite often in translation practice there is a need for notarial certification of the translated text that may be an official confirmation of the correctness and accuracy of the translation. According to Article 79 of the Law of Ukraine On Notaries the document is considered to be notarized when the notary himself checks the accuracy of the translation and put his signature and seal under it. Notarized translation may be required in the following cases:

  • visa processing at embassies of other countries;
  • obtaining inheritance by a non-resident of Ukraine;
  • submission of documents to public authorities.

One of the distinctive features of notarization is that the original documents are sewn with their translations, and the notary has the right to require the documents on the translator's educational level. In "Apostille & Tochka" notarial documents are translated into fifty languages, including popular languages like English or Italian, and rare like Persian or Urdu. At the same time, the cost even for rare languages remains quite affordable.

Technical translation

Technical translation is quite complex and requires specific knowledge in this field. In order to perform this translation almost all translators receive a second higher education – technical, which allows to operate the terms correctly, as well as to adhere to the formal-logical style of presentation. At the same time, the grammar of technical texts includes the following solid established norms: impersonal constructions, passive voice, inversions and non-personal verb forms. Technical translation is performed for:

That is why this type of translation can be performed only by a person with medical education. Sometimes translated texts are submitted for proofreading to medical editors who check the compliance of medical terms in source language with their equivalents in target language.
